The 3D pen you’ve been waiting for

SINGAPORE -- Does creating 3D articles in thin air sound familiar to you? Now, how about super hot handling parts? That foul plastic burning smell? And what about the non-flexibility of using different colors, materials? And that annoying power chord which comes in the way of your creativity?

If you are anything of a tech geek, or a 3D enthusiast, you know exactly what I’m talking about. There is nothing new about the 3D pen technology, and everyone who has tried their hand at it would know about the challenges it poses. All the players in the market today come with these same set of problems. There is no wonder then, that these issues take away from the fun and possibilities that the 3D pen technology should ideally provide.

CreoPop has entered this market like a breath of fresh air. The CreoPop 3D pen is packed with extremely innovative technology that makes witchcraft a reality. The novelty of these pens lies in their inks, which is made using special photo-polymer materials that solidify under LED light. This means, none of the parts in the pen require heating up and there is no melting plastic.

Andreas Birnik, CEO of CreoPop, talks passionately about his groundbreaking technology and states that they, in fact, never sought out to creating a “3D pen”. He, and his team of material scientists, were conducting extensive R&D into different kinds of materials that can be solidified instantly and could be made usable in our daily lives. Some of the materials they were working with had magnetic properties, glow in the dark properties, aromatic properties, conducting properties, and glittering properties. The 3D pen was an obvious application of this one-of-a-kind technology.

Imagine being able to create glow-in-the-dark phone covers, so that you can find your phone easily in the dark. Or, some day, creating electrical circuits only using a 3D pen. Or how about instantly making a button for your favourite shirt with a missing button. Or making aromatic trinkets for your home and car. Or architects creating 3D models for their projects. Or the makers creating funky jewellery. The possibilities are endless, and Andreas and his team are working incessantly to give the world a 3D pen that would essentially act like a magic wand.

This pen is already a reality and CreoPop is now in it’s beta stages. The team is currently tweaking the pen to make it more user-friendly and fine-tuning its aesthetics. CreoPop 3D pens will be ready to be shipped in July 2015, with priority given to Pre-orders. You can place a pre-order for your very own CreoPop 3D pen and an array of their magical inks here: goo.gl/izSIHt (http://www.google.com/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Fgoo.gl%2FizSIHt). Note that this is a crowdfunding campaign as well, so all the funds raised with this pre-order will be allocated to mass production of the pen and for further R&D activities.
