Activist turned Rapper starts IndieGoGo campaign for New Album Neteru Muses

LOS ANGELES -- Hood News founder Hassan Haze, sits as an interviewee for his indie gogo epk video. He promises to speak truthfully with his audience. Hassan Haze has started an indie go go campaign to market and distribute his album "Neteru Muses". Haze calls the album “One Classic that stands alone from all other hip-hop classics”. Haze has been steadily feeding his fans small bites of a huge meal with remixed records “Hey Mami”, “So Close”, “Egg Shells” and "Words of A Convict" just to name a few. Hassan is starting to open up about his humble beginnings, how he bought his camera equipment right out of film school to shoot three classic Hood News documentaries and the legacy it has given him in Los Angeles. Hassan wants to talk about the military time he served on the Korean DMZ.

At 34, Hassan Haze’s dream deferred has turned into a present day living reality.

Hassan says, “I started Hood News at 26. I rapped my entire life. My brothers Tobias and Jashar had a group called the Debonair Posse, when I was a little kid, they brought rap into the living room. I have completed a very mature piece of art. I'm not a 20 year old but a twenty year will learn life lessons from me. Hip hop is extremely dumbed down for what I am delivering but I understand I’m dropping time capsules as well so someone might hear it 20 years from now and it helps them or inspires them.”

Hassan elaborates about the struggling artist and the many broken or fragile relationships one can encounter when on the path of artistry. He admits that most of his failed relationships were his own doing though. “I was brought up a certain way. I was taught the game at a young age. A lot of us in the hood are sick but we don’t admit it. I was sick, I had to learn how to respect women and hold them higher in regards to mother nature. The 90’s rap era of offensive female language definitely influenced how I viewed my woman. I was twisted. So naturally when karma came back to me and God sat me down I got alot of time to think. I started analyzing myself, my situation and my integrity. I lost one of the greatest people in my life by being honest. I suppose to be here doing this. This is how my story writes it’s not common and nothing about me is common, y’all just don’t know. . .I wanted to dedicate an album to the cosmic female energy, the Neter and the Queen Maat. I wanted to do an album my Olmec and Alkebulan ancestors would be proud of. I need the money to pay program directors, blogs, DJ’s, close captioning fees and street team members.”

Hassan plans to launch Hood News segments in the midst of the campaign. He also plans to release some live performances from some of the songs on the album. Hassan says hip-hop is missing a main ingredient and it’s stopping the growth of the art form. “I want to add lasting substance and a quick thought of positive reflection. I want you to able to think, work, workout, or socialize over my music. I’m hot within a small section of taste makers that tell popular culture what's hot and they say I'm hot so I'm hot but once more people hear me I believe they will feel my soul in my music and come along for the ride. I plan on implementing my message in a culture that has gotten away from the originators. I'm coming with a culture attached to my Brand. Tupac is the only rapper you can compare me to because we both got footage of us saving a person getting beat by the police. First comes Hassan then the movement. This time it's for the chips.” Hassan has pulled off the unthinkable many times behind the scenes but will he win with all the chips on the table?

His story has been amazing thus far and now it’s his time.
