New Novel From Air Force Veteran Turned Author Reveals Dark Psychology Of Drone Combat

DAYTON, Ohio -- Dayton area author and resident, Z. K. Rosson, has published Kinetic Sunset, a novel that takes you behind the scenes with Captain James “Brick” Houze, a U. S. Air Force drone pilot. This release is especially timely, considering America is on the verge of expanding its drone war into Syria. Readers interested in the moral dilemmas faced by America’s growing force of computer-bound killers will be especially moved by Rosson’s riveting tale of ruthlessness, loss, and survival.

“I wrote this novel while deployed to Afghanistan during an especially trying period in my life, and I think that tone carries throughout the majority of the novel,” said Z. K. Rosson, author of Kinetic Sunset. “The major premise behind the plot is that when you take away the heroism, valor, and self-sacrifice from war—and the combatants lose sight of the desired end state—it becomes increasingly difficult to morally justify one’s actions. This realization rips apart the life of the main character and all those around him.”

In the novel, James “Brick” Houze is an inexperienced drone pilot who seems to have a good life. He is married to his soul mate and adoring wife, Claire. He is gaining increasing respect and responsibility at work as his kill count continues to grow. But everything starts to slip away when James is forced to do something he never thought possible, and he can no longer justify his actions. Now, he believes his government has turned against him and will stop at nothing to keep him quiet. You can purchase the electronic version of Kinetic Sunset at all major online retailers, including Amazon.
