Jada's Way is an annual impact experience for girls and young women ages 13-24. We host a series of dynamic experiences to include esteem celebrations, workshops, live performances, break out sessions, and ongoing mentoring. Leading up to the event, money will be raised for scholarships, promotion of safe, healthy relationships, educational resources, mentoring, community engagement and overall empowerment. The event will take place over the course of an entire weekend every April starting in 2015.
This initiative is an extension of the theatrical production Rimshot Urban Musical inspired by the character "Jada" and the challenges she faces with peer pressure, self-image, moral sacrifice, parental conflict, images in media, navigating false promises, identifying purpose, and self-worth. Jada represents all girls and young women who take the higher road, celebrate their uniqueness, understand true beauty, maintaining healthy relationships, and who are empowered by a sense of overall self-worth.
We are currently seeking community partners, grants, sponsors, and speakers for the event. We are also fundraising events for scholarships targeting young women interested in pursuing careers in male-dominated industries.
The initiative is powered by the Positive Arts Movement.
