3 Reasons why every business should offer Aflac to their employees

TORRANCE, Calif. -- 1) To Show support for your employees.

In every workplace all over the world the most important resource any company has is the employees. There comes a time in the life of an employee where they need to recover from a illness or injury. AFLAC provides a way for the company to reach out to employees in this situation and help protect the employees pay check. For example, John has been a valued employee for years. He goes to the doctor for a regular check-up just to find out that a previous x-ray showed traces of cancer on his lungs. As it happens, John has medical insurance, but what about the co-pays and deductibles, not to mention what will happen while he is out of work during the treatments he is required to take over the next 3 weeks. With no more sick time left he can’t afford to be off from work – what about his everyday expenses (mortgage, rent, car payment, utility bills, credit card payment, etc.). This is the exact situation where AFLAC plans are perfect. If John had a cancer policy from AFLAC he would be receiving a check from AFLAC that would help with his expenses, so he can take the necessary time to fully recover and return to work in a productive manner.

2) To offset the rising cost of medical coverage.

With the rising cost of health care, companies of various sizes are turning to AFLAC for help. Many businesses have found themselves in a difficult place regarding health care. The same plan that was offered to employees for years are now going up due to the new mandates, which requires that all insurance must comply with certain standards. The problem is companies are faced with some limited options: 1) No longer offer any medical coverage 2) Change current plan to increase the deductible – this way the cost will be about the same or 3) Increase the amount that the employees are required to pay – that way the cost difference will be passed to the employee. However, many companies have worked out a plan that includes AFLAC , for a fraction of the cost, and were able to make the current benefits more robust at a lower cost. I know this sounds counter-intuitive, but it works because the companies’ tax liability was actually lowered through offering AFLAC.

3) To lower payroll tax liability.

The IRS plan called SR-125 allows companies to lower their payroll tax liability by the accumulated amount of all AFLAC policies paid for by the employees (cost is less than a cup of coffee a day). So, for all intent and purposes the company will be able to realize a profit through offering employees a benefit package that adds options for them.
