Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Mu Epsilon Omega Chapter to Host Hat & Gloves Scholarship Tea

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. -- Mu Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated will host its 5th Annual Hats & Gloves Scholarship Tea at 1:00 p.m. on May 4, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach in Newport Beach, CA.

This public event is traditionally attended by supporters of young women in higher education. Proceeds will go toward scholarships for young women in both Orange County and Los Angeles County. Last year’s recipients, Elizabeth Davis currently attends Stanford University, and Delina Meharenna attends UC Berkeley respectively.

Mu Epsilon Omega Chapter is proud to present two scholarships in the amount of $1,500. The awards are the chapter’s highest academic honor. The public is encouraged to review scholarship requirements and apply at http://www.akameo.org. The application deadline is April 12, 2014.

Tickets are $68.00 for adults and $43.00 for children 3-11 years old and can be purchased online at http://www.akameo.org.

This event will include live musical entertainment, a festive fashion show featuring fancy hand-made garden party hats, raffle prizes, a Spring Boutique, and a silent auction. The silent auction begins at 12:00 p.m.

The Spring Boutique will feature a variety of unique gift baskets, jewelry, art, accessories, specialty clothing, and important information on healthcare, women-owned businesses and career opportunities.
