Significance of Environmental Testing for a Business

DELAFIELD, Wis. -- Environmental testing involves testing the specific appliances or instruments that creates sounds with high frequency. Even kitchen appliances may in turn produce some noise which is considered as a disturbance for your neighborhood people. Vibration testing is the method of testing the level of vibration and frequencies that is generated by a machine. There is also seismic testing and package testing, which is used to test for several production machinery.

DATASYST can help you identify how your product will respond to environmental stressors including temperature, humidity and altitude. We have the capabilities to expose your product to single or combined environmental conditions. Awareness of your product's sustainability to a given condition is significant in assessing your design or troubleshooting existing product concerns.

Environmental testing, often called Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), is the process of exposing the test component to high and/or low temperature conditions for a given period of time. Temperature or thermal shock testing utilizes a minimum of two chambers to rapidly shuttle the test component between temperature conditions.

Other test parameters that are often introduced with varying temperature are humidity and vibration. We have a wide variety of environmental chambers available. Types of Environmental Testing include:

· Temperature

· Thermal Shock

· Humidity

· Altitude

Temperature Testing
Environmental temperature testing will expose the unit under test to constant high or low temperatures or cycle temperature during testing.

Capabilities / Equipment:
Environmental test chambers are available in sizes from small cubes to walk-in or drive-in chambers. Temperature ranges for testing are typically available within, but not limited to, -73°C (-100°F) to 200°C (390°F).

Contact DATASYST for individual industry specifications or to discuss customized testing requirements.

Thermal Shock
Thermal shock testing is accomplished in two methods - in a single environmental chamber that accommodates two programmed temperatures, or through the use of two zone temperature chambers where the unit under test is shuttled between chambers. Transfer time is minimal, typically less than 60 seconds.

Humidity
Humidity testing can be added concurrently to a temperature test. Cycle rates are dependent on the unit under test.

Altitude

Altitude testing uses reduced air pressure to determine the altitude that a component can withstand. Cycling pressure levels can be performed to determine the effects on the unit with changes in pressure over time. Energizing the unit and power cycling during testing can also add stress to the device.

The requirements of environmental testing might depend on the intensity of noise in the particular equipment. The unnatural sound of heavy industrial machines cannot be avoided at factories, including printing press or some other busy industrial locations. In such cases the testing process must be done to protect workers and keep the surroundings safe for living.
