Maxi’s awards couple a second honeymoon in Zanzibar

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa -- Maxi’s recently held a competition where anyone who spent R250-00 or more at any one of its restaurants in the Limpopo province, could win a trip of a lifetime, an all-expenses paid vacation to Zanzibar. To qualify for the competition, customers simply had to deposit their entry form and till slip in the entry box in store.

Adri Kleynhans and her husband were on their way for a relaxing holiday to Tsipise Resort when they decided to stop at the Ranch Maxi’s in Polokwane for a quick lunch break. She says when she saw the competition she just knew she had to enter. “I’ve never entered a competition in my life but I had a good feeling about this one and being in holiday mode, I decided to give it a go. I almost forgot about it when Maxi’s called me to say I had won this fantastic trip. I didn’t believe them at first but when I saw the e-mail with all the details, I realised that we had really won! I was shocked and filled with excitement,” chuckles Kleynhans.

The prize included a seven night stay at the Karafuu resort on an all-inclusive package basis, return airfares, airport taxes, visas as well as R3,000 spending money.

Over and above the exquisite package, Kleynhans received more than she bargained for as little did she know that her husband had arranged for them to renew their wedding vows on the beach in traditional Kenyan style. For this couple this trip was not only an unforgettable getaway, it was a trip that reunited them as one.

“The holiday was amazing and has given us memories that we will treasure for the rest of our lives. I would just like to extend our appreciation to Maxi's; thank you for choosing us and for giving us a fully paid second honeymoon,” adds Kleynhans.

Expressing customer appreciation is part of Maxi’s business philosophy. “This specific competition is just one way that we are able to thank our customers for their loyal patronage. At Maxi’s we believe that customer appreciation should extend beyond a competition and is also expressed by delivering an exceptional product and service, building personal relationships, and making a point of being receptive to our customers’ needs. It is because of this customer centric approach that we are one of South Africa’s favourite family chain restaurants,” concludes Bronwyn Oliveira, Maxi’s brand manager.
