Children's Author Sheri Fink to Appear at OC Children’s Book Festival and Fall Into Literacy 2013

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Be sure to mark your calendars! Sheri Fink, best-selling and award-winning children’s author of the books The Little Rose, The Little Gnome, Exploring the Garden with the Little Rose, and The Little Firefly will appear at the 10th Annual OC Children’s Book Festival in Costa Mesa, CA on Sunday September 29th, and at the 10th Annual United Way Children’s Fall into Literacy 2013 Festival in Wilmington, CA on Saturday October 5th.

“I am delighted to appear at two timely and important events in my local area,” says author Sheri Fink. “Both organizations have missions that align with my own, and I am happy to be a part of promoting the love and the fun of reading to my local communities.”

The OC Children’s Book Festival is a free community event that will begin at 9:30am on Sunday September 29th, and will wrap up by 4:30pm. The festival will host family-fun entertainment for children of all ages, and will feature a variety of authors, illustrators, and exhibitors.

The festival will have kid-friendly food vendors throughout the day on the event premises at Orange Coast Community College in Costa Mesa. Parking for the event is free and can be found off Fairview Road and Arlington Street. Sheri Fink will be reading her newest book, The Little Firefly, on the Storytellers Stage during the festival.

The Fall into Literacy 2013 Festival is a unique event that promotes children’s literacy, and plants seeds of excitement about reading to children and families.

The United Way Children’s Fall into Literacy 2013 Festival will be held at The Banning Museum in Wilmington, CA on Saturday, October 5th.

The event will begin at 10am, and end at 3pm. The event is free and open to the public. Free parking can be found off M St. Eubank Street and Pacific Coast Highway. Food vendors can be found at the event off M St. Eubank Street.

The Fall into Literacy 2013 Festival will host numerous book authors, illustrators, and exhibitors, as well as appearances by characters such as Caillou, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and more.

“We are very excited to have Sheri Fink join us again for this year’s Fall into Literacy 2013 event,” says event organizer Lupe Lopez. “Sheri understands and promotes our mission of bridging the literacy gap, and I know children and families will be as happy as I am to have her at the event.”
