POOLE, U.K. -- As part of their ongoing charity initiatives staff from Keytek™ Locksmiths, including family and friends, took part in a volunteer day at Holton Lee located in Poole, Dorset on Sunday 8th September.
Volunteers from Keytek™ enjoyed taking part in various activities throughout the day on the heathland. These voluntary activities included pine pulling, tree ‘ringing’, de-weeding paths for wheelchair access and building bug hotels. Many of the children who volunteered enjoyed stamping on mud, sand and straw to make a cob for an experimental building project.
Eddie Wilkinson, Operations Director at Keytek™, said: “The volunteer day was a massive success and we really appreciate the effort taken by members of staff to give up a day of their own time in aid of charity. With a forecast of torrential rain for the day, it was looking a little doubtful to start with, but thankfully good fortune was on our side with only a few showers throughout the day and a great time was had by all!”
Holton Lee is a 350 acre estate located in a secluded corner of Dorset, it was founded in 1992 as an initiative to address the need for accommodation that is suitable for those who are disabled, therefore the charity provides residents with the accessibility they need and enhances their general wellbeing including that of their carers, family and friends through it’s variety of facilities. Holton Lee aims to do this by providing better opportunities for it’s residents and visitors to flourish in the arts, horticulture and the environment.
