Unique is not just a name for us, it is a mantra. We like to innovate with our language teaching. We like to work with teachers who are better than average, we like to work with learners who need to be challenged and like to achieve. We love to develop new language courses and we love to do things that only we can do.



Our latest learning programme had never been done before. We invited some lawyers from Spain to London to learn Legal English in a course with a dramatic difference. The focus would not only be on lessons but we would also try and introduce the learners to all of London as well as giving them an insight into the legal background of the city.



The course was divided into an academic part between 11am and 1pm each weekday morning where Unique's Legal English trainers introduced the students to English law; including how laws are made, immigration law, business law and press law. Occasionally, we were also joined by special guests (usually lawyers or other legal professionals) to give talks on their specialist subjects.

After lunch, the students explored Legal London. There were private guided visits to The Supreme Court, the Houses of Parliament, the Inns of Court and various other courts in the city.

Another innovative idea was to hold each lesson in a different part of the city; so we were able to visit Greenwich, Westminster, Covent Garden, Southwark and King's Cross during the space of a week in some of the most interesting buildings in London.

The course was an incredible success, with student feedback overwhelmingly positive. We have plans to run the course continually throughout the year, always maintaining our great teaching standards and innovative approach.
