Visual Computing Labs wins Best Special Effects award at IIFA 2013

BANGALORE, India -- Indian animation and visual effects powerhouse, Tata Elxsi - Visual Computing Labs (VCL) won the “Best Special Effects (Visuals)” award at the 14th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards for delivering stellar effects for the blockbuster film, ‘Ek Tha Tiger.

VCL was recognized for its much appreciated work in delivering the spectacular VFX for the biggest action-packed film of 2012 - Ek Tha Tiger. Some of the key VFX sequences in the film were the Dublin Tram Sequence, the High octane action sequences shot in Cuba and Istanbul and the awe-inspiring end action finale to name a few.

VCL delivered over 1000 visual effects shots for the movie using cutting edge VFX technology and the project was completed in a record six and a half months period

Produced by Yash Raj Films, the film extensively leveraged VCL’s visual effects technologies as some of the high-octane action sequences were enhanced or re-created to seamlessly integrate into the film. The film marked VCL’s 24th collaboration with Yash Raj Films.
