Mirror – Lalkrishna Mitta’s debut story published by Notion Press

The unique initiative of Notion Press called the Author Incubation program inspires and motivates budding writers to continue their impressive work. With Mirror, Notion Press has published another story that teaches the importance of pursuing ones dreams.

Mirror by Lalkrishna Mitta is the tale of a young boy who never wants to detach himself from his world of dreams. Born to a simple middle-class family, Gopal is a simpleton who wouldn’t part the world with his own happiness. That kind of value he has for the ‘thing’ mortals sometimes spend their entire life chasing.

Then he comes across a monk, who was sadly abandoned by his village. In another ironic encounter, Gopal meets a gambler who hails from the same village as the monk. What sets the reader’s eyeballs rolling is that the gambler has lost everything in his life but is still liked by his villagers. Gopal learns some vital lessons of life from the monk who also enlightens him on the very purpose of his existence.

Enter Tarakesh, almost like a twin brother to Gopal, whose role is to explain the universal language to the protagonist. Then comes the intriguing part and the mind is plagued by questions from all ends. As much as Gopal is searching for the answers, the reader is equally perturbed and eager to learn the lessons that life has to teach. Gopal is the connecting link between the reader and their quest for the language of life.

The readers are taken on an amazing journey of self-discovery through the embodiment of the protagonist. The answers of life are right there to know but they require the right nudge to channelize the thought process in the right direction for the secrets to reveal themselves on their own.

Gopal’s is a beautiful story that propels readers to seek answers to questions that relate to the purpose behind their existence, self-realisation and inspires them to live their dreams.

Lalkrishna Mitta is a young, 22 year old graduate from the electrical sciences who chose to tread the path of his dreams, and giving up his profession in the course of doing that. When there is poetry in the heart and each and every cell in the body is passionate about penning down the inner most thoughts and feelings, a writer is born. Lalkrishna found his personal calling in writing and then education and career aspirations did not matter. Through his piece ‘Mirror’, he opens the eyes of the reader to live their dreams to the fullest.
