Ms. Stein has carved a distinguished career in leadership consulting, marked by her role as the founder and principal of B Stein Leadership Consulting since 2024. She began her journey in the field with a focus on leadership effectiveness support for mid-sized businesses, motivated by her passion for mission-driven organizations that build community. Prior to establishing her consultancy, she served as the global director of enterprise leadership development at VMware from 2022 to 2024, during which time she led leadership development programs focused on navigating change and uncertainty—helping leaders build the skills and communication strategies needed to lead through evolving challenges. This work laid the foundation for the Adaptive Development for Leaders program she now co-leads, which emphasizes values-based leadership and the ability to adapt based on what each situation calls for.
From 2018 until 2022, Ms. Stein was the learning experience and delivery lead for global learning and leadership development at Columbia Sportswear Company. Her proudest achievement during this tenure was creating a comprehensive culture of learning that translated into tangible business results. She partnered with business leaders to define core leadership capabilities and created tools to help individuals align their development goals with performance priorities. This work supported leadership growth at all levels and reached over 8,000 global employees by integrating learning into the performance process.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Stein served as a principal consultant in talent management at Providence Health & Services between 2016 and 2018 and as a senior consultant and programs leader in leadership development at Providence from 2012 to 2016. She further honed her expertise in organizational development during her time as a consultant programs leader for HR and talent development programs at Providence from 2008 until 2012. Previously, she was the manager of organizational development and learning at Renown Health from 2006 to 2008 and the training and development manager at Colonial Bank between 2004 and 2006.
Instrumental in Ms. Stein's ability to connect with people globally and communicate effectively on various topics was her academic background, inclusive of a bachelor's degree in speech communications from the University of Nevada, Reno, which she earned in 2003. She also holds several certifications that have enriched her professional journey, including team performance model certification from Grove Consultants International in 2020 and Hogan practitioner certification from Hogan Assessments in 2019, among others.
In addition to her primary endeavors, Ms. Stein is actively involved in industry-related organizations such as Chief Learning Officer, and she has been recognized with accolades like the BEST Award from the Association for Talent Development and Learning Elite honors from Chief Learning Officer in both 2021 and 2023.
Reflecting on her career, Ms. Stein attributes many of her accomplishments to meaningful relationships with mentors who believed in her potential, as well as her ongoing work on self-awareness and healing from past experiences. This self-belief empowered her to start her own consulting business, confident in her ability to make a difference through her skill set and knowledge base. She believes true leadership begins from within—and that anyone can achieve meaningful success through self-awareness, self-love, and inner reflection. By cultivating a grounded inner foundation, leaders are better equipped to serve and support others with clarity, empathy, and purpose.
Looking ahead, Ms. Stein seeks to partner with mission-driven organizations, particularly executive teams at Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) to support business evolution through agile organizational design and leadership development solutions. Her passion for community impact is reflected in her giving and service: she supports local children and families through direct giving and advocacy, and spends time with older adults, contributing to their wellbeing through connection and care.
