ATEC to showcase value of biometric tech at IFSEC 2013

ATEC Systems and Technologies (ATEC), a national ICT and software company focused on telecommunications, security and management systems, will feature prominently at the IFSEC 2013 event scheduled for 18-20 June at Gallagher Convention Centre, Midrand, Johannesburg.

The company is a regular contributor to this industry-leading event and uses the platform to consistently underline the value of Visitor Management solutions and Biometric Systems within today’s converged security services space.

More specifically ATEC plans to showcase the relevance and value of i-Dentifid™ Compact and i-Dentifid™ BioScan, just two examples of the leading technology this company offers the Visitor Management and integrated Access Control System market.

Convergence and biometrics have been identified as key influencers within the corporate security space.

In practice the system enrols or registers a person’s fingerprint in the vehicle using biometric technology and then integrates with the fingerprint access control system. Once cleared, access is then provided to the premises.

This also takes the authority away from the guard to be able to open or close booms.

The i-Dentifid™ license scanners and integration ability is exclusive to ATEC and offers electronic visitor management along with a range of scanning and recording possibilities.

“We provide a complete managed network solution to ensure proper layer 2 separation of Access Control, CCTV and any other functionality required. A full e-State solution for last mile internet, telephony and IPTV services also form part of the offering. The IFSEC conference has provided us with an effective platform from which to demonstrate the value in partnering with a credible, one-stop telecoms and security service provider,” says Louis Parker, CEO of ATEC.

In 2012, Parker said of the IFSEC event that it provides the company with a credible and effective platform from which to demonstrate its value proposition.

The market continues to evolve and Parker believes that now, more than ever, there is significant interest in biometric and converged solutions that add practical value to access control and security management.
