Backed by years of professional experience in engineering, Mr. Aguilar presently serves as the vice president of engineering for Edwards Lifesciences. In this capacity, he oversees between 50 and 70 employees along with two senior directors, ensures that colleagues and employees have the necessary support to complete their work, and supervises all platform and program development matters. Prior to obtaining his current position, Mr. Aguilar worked for Edwards Lifesciences as the senior director of engineering.
During the early stages of his career, Mr. Aguilar gained valuable expertise in engineering and the pharmaceutical industry through executive positions with the Olympus Corporation of the Americas, Teleflex Incorporated, Arrow International, and the automotive industry in Mexico. Outside of his work, he dedicates himself to others through the University of California, Riverside's Transformative Leadership Program, through which he served as an advisory board member. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Aguilar also aligns himself with the Shingo Institute for Quality and Excellence, and the Association for Cardiac Care.
An expert in his field, Mr. Aguilar holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Chihuahua II, a master's degree in manufacturing systems from a technology institute in Mexico, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Subsequently, he received management and leadership certifications through MIT Sloan Executive Education and Villanova University. While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Aguilar takes the most pride in seeing his team's progress and developing the next generation of leaders at Edwards Lifesciences. The cornerstone of his success lay in his desire to do something to positively impact the lives of others. In the next five years, Mr. Aguilar intends to expand the scope of his work beyond the business unit and on an international scale.
