Mr. Sotolongo is an attorney with 20 years of practice in multiple specialties including personal injury, litigation, and maritime law. Born in Cuba, he emigrated to the United States as a child in the 1980s. He was driven to pursue a career in law by a desire to help others and attended law school while working as a bailiff at the Miami-Dade County Courthouse. He studied criminal justice at the John Jay College of Law, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1994, and was awarded his Juris Doctor by Nova Southeastern University in 2002.
Since 2008, Mr. Sotolongo has been in private practice at Sotolongo, P.A., where he focuses on complex maritime law and personal injury cases. He began his career as an attorney with Quintairos, Prieto, Wood, & Boyer, P.A., in 2002, and continued to practice with the firm until 2005. Through a large practice serving clients in a variety of areas of law, Mr. Sotolongo focused on representing medical providers, hospitals and skilled care facilities.
In recognition of his long-standing commitment to excellence, Mr. Sotolongo has been included in the National Trial Lawyers Association's Top 100 Lawyers list. He is proud to offer pro bono representation to a portion of clients who cannot afford to retain his services. In his personal time, Mr. Sotolongo enjoys health and wellness, including cooking nutritious food, and is an avid runner and mountain biker.
