The Inland Marine Underwriters Association [IMUA] Sets 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting Agenda

NEW YORK - April 8, 2021 - The Inland Marine Underwriters Association (IMUA) announced the agenda for its upcoming 90th Annual Meeting & Educational Symposium. To be held on Tuesday, May 25th and Wednesday, May 26 from 1 pm to 5 pm, this year's annual meeting is going virtual.

The IMUA theme, The Pivot, reflects the association's continuing efforts over the past year to engage its members during the pandemic with a variety of e-learning professional development opportunities.

This year's meeting will feature a diverse educational agenda beginning with Dan North, Chief Economist at Euler Hermes, IMUA's keynote speaker. Mr. North's address will touch on the outlook for the US Economy.

In announcing its Annual Meeting, IMUA President and CEO, Kevin O'Brien, said, "Restrictions placed upon us because of the Covid-19 pandemic have forced us to rethink how we can best serve our membership. This past year we instituted an aggressive e-learning program that enabled our members to stay up to date with trends facing our industry. The overwhelming enthusiasm for this program naturally led us to hold our annual meeting virtually this year. We are once again pleased to offer a diverse array of topics that are extremely relevant to today's inland marine environment."

IMUA's Annual Meeting Agenda includes:
Tuesday, May 25
Keynote: Outlook for the U.S. Economy
Commercial Flood – Analytical Tools & Migration Strategies
Subrogation: An Underwriting Advantage

Wednesday, May 26
Climate Change & Natural Disasters
Transportation: Supply Chain Risk, Pandemic Issues & Big Data/AI
Builders Risk Delay Claims
Incoming IMUA Chairperson, Jessica Frankovich, Senior Vice President, Inland Marine & Custom Property at Seneca Insurance Company, a Crum & Forster Company, commenting on this year's Annual Virtual Meeting, said, "I am extremely honored to serve as the IMUA's incoming Chairperson. I am continually amazed at what we, as an association, have been able to accomplish in fulfilling our pledge of furthering the professional development of the employees of our member companies. This past year, IMUA has really embraced the virtual learning environment and has been able to offer a plethora of different learning opportunities. The Education Committee has done an outstanding job in creating the program for this year's annual meeting. This is a great opportunity for all of our members and also our friends in the producer community to join us for two days of education and virtual networking events.

"I would also like to thank our outgoing Chair Bruce Jervis for his hard work and dedication in moving IMUA forward and making membership even more rewarding for our member companies," Frankovich added. "I look forward to building upon the programs he has set forth and to another great year for IMUA."
