Academic Search Engine Knobull Launches Free TeleEd Learning Support

BOSTON - March 12, 2021 -"The use of TeleEd will skyrocket dramatically, thanks to the growing need to navigate through remote learning roadblocks. Knowing how to best use this valuable service will help students continue to receive the help they need, even after learning from a distance is required.

The most important thing to remember is that TeleEd is still quite new," said Lynn Bentley, President of Knobull, adding that "we are still in the beginning stages of this technology, so we plan to gauge its full reach and potential. We are offering this free support to demonstrate our commitment to the achievement of academic and career success!"

As with an in-person visit, students should come prepared with questions or topics to discuss. It is also helpful to take notes while completing the visit. Students should approach their visits the same way they would approach a in-person visit. The more information and questions they bring with them, the more likely they are to have many of their concerns addressed.

"For some visits that require an assessment, TeleEd is an excellent option," said Bentley, adding that this includes "coping with learning deficiencies that can be reviewed and addressed. This very much depends on the nature of a student's top priorities and should be decided in conjunction with instructors' input. Some people truly feel much more comfortable meeting a neutral coach one-on-one."

In addition, there are real potential advantages to being able to visit students in their own home, including being able to assess concerns securely. TeleEd offers a tool for students to follow up on their instructors' evaluations in a way that's sometime more convenient, more accessible, and often the only option. Being able to leverage the power of personal coaching in conjunction with the need to learn remotely has been incredibly important.

"TeleEd is the next best thing to a face-to-face visit. It really is," said Bentley. "A call works, and I give a fair amount of advice on the telephone. It's all about communication and we can respond if students have a puzzled sound in their voice or open up about the issues they are facing."
