Sony have been coming out with OLED television sets for quite some time now, so it is only natural that we find it now on the Xperia Pro. Blessed with a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED screen, it doesn’t get any better than this. Capable of displaying 1 billion colors in all its HDR glory, it will be a feast for your eyes.

It also comes with a display that features 21:9 CinemaWide™ aspect ratio and support for the BT.2020 color space. With Creator mode “powered by CineAlta”, and a specially calibrated D65 white point, it references the color reproduction of Sony professional color monitors.

Then we have lots of protection all around the Xperia Pro, with it getting the IP65/IP68 rating and Gorilla Glass in the front and in the back. Simply said, you can carry this device wherever you may roam and not have a single trouble in your mind.

Under the hood of the Xperia Pro is the Snapdragon 865 chipset paired with a very fast Kyro octa-core processor, amazing graphics and a whopping 12GB RAM. There’s nothing that will be able to slow this beast down.

Camera-wise, the Xperia Pro is packed with a 12MP+12MP+12MP+0.3MP quad primary camera with Zeiss optics. The amount of detail found on this smartphone is just mind-boggling. It was co-developed with the engineers behind the latest Alpha 9 series cameras for industry-leading autofocus. Real-time Eye AF works on both humans and animals, and the interface is designed to meet the demands of professional photographers with new manual controls and RAW support.

We also have the Zeiss optics calibrated specifically for this Xperia smartphone. The ZEISS® T* coating contributes to exquisite rendering and contrast by reducing reflections. For true creative freedom, the Xperia PRO has three lenses in versatile focal lengths: 0.6", 0.9", and 2.8". Then we have the 8MP selfie camera to make the package complete.

In terms of storage, the Xperia Pro is equipped with a huge 512GB of internal storage which is amazing. Even then, you can still plug in a microSDXC expansion slot should you need more space.

Moving on to the battery side of things, the 4000 mAh battery capacity found on the Xperia Pro seems to be a little bit on the low side.

With dual-sim capability and 5G connectivity, the Xperia Pro is a very capable smartphone that should be able to last you for a couple of years – at the very least.

Now let’s check out what separates the Xperia Pro from all other smartphones in the planet. Using a third-party live streaming application, it can stream video content from the camera or camcorder that is connected to the HDMI input terminal.

Offering unrivalled data speeds and higher bandwidth, 5G Sub-6 and 5G mmWave technology heralds a new era for business broadcasting—and the Xperia Pro is compatible with both. Capable of even faster uploads and downloads than 5G Sub-6, 5G mmWave also offers remarkably low latency—essential if you are broadcasting live content such as sports or news.

The Xperia Pro features a 360° antenna design, which covers the four sides of the device. Together with beamforming technology, it’s the most effective way to capture high-band frequency 5G mmWave signals. In addition, a low dielectric constant material used in the chassis of the Xperia Pro enables radio waves to pass through more easily. Together, these technologies help ensure the best 5G mmWave connection, no matter how you’re holding your device or where it’s positioned.

Conclusion:

Sony Xperia Pro is not your regular smartphone, and you should seriously be looking into it if you want everything else that it has to offer. Of course, the price is also steep. So if you are in the broadcasting industry and love to do live events, then this is the smartphone of choice to cater to all your needs.

Sony Xperia Pro had just been released in January 2021 for a price tag of 2,499 USD and there’s only Black color available.
