Make A Difference In The Community This Holiday Season

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - Nov. 18, 2020 - Social scientists remind us that at this time of year, volunteering in the community and giving back through a positive effect on mental and physical health. Kovach Marketing is encouraging others to join in community giving by working with some of Orange County's most worthy and difference-making causes.

There are many charitable organizations, large and small, that need volunteers and donations. From filling food bank pantries to delivering meals, there are several areas that need community support. UnitedWayOC.com is one such site that lists opportunities that can even be done remotely from home.

"Let's face it...2020 has been a challenging year in all kinds of ways, from pandemic related shutdowns and job losses to difficulties with keeping a roof over your head," said Dana Lee Kovach, president of Kovach Marketing. "Part of our company's tradition has been to give back a local level through organizations we know and enjoy working with year after year. This kind of giving is a truly unique form of team building for us, and this year we are adopting two families through the Families Forward Adopt-A-Family Holliday Gift Program."

Even as the gift-giving season begins, Families Forward, an Orange County non-profit dedicated to help families in need to achieve self-sufficiency through housing, food, counseling, education and other support services, is asking for the public's help in filling their food pantry. The organization's Drive-Thru Food Assistance Program is open to all Orange County Residents. The Food Assistance Program is a year-round effort that is currently asking for donations of Thanksgiving food items.

"Families Forward Adopt A Family Holiday Program is very popular annual toy-drive open to all Orange County residents," says Sarah Stokes, Grants and Communication Manager for Families Forward. "We are inviting local companies and businesses to host drop-off locations beginning very soon, since the deadline for donations is December 7th. We are providing suggested wish list via Amazon so donors can purchase gifts online and have them shipped directly to our offices."
