OTHER, N.Y. - Oct. 6, 2020 - Calling all families, friends and Rockaway lovers to roll up our sleeves and work together to make everywhere in Rockaway beautiful. You are invited to an event at Beach 69th and the bay that aims to bring the community together, while social distancing, with a fun playful afternoon of cleaning up, repairing, painting, gardening and celebrating our resilient community. We will be fixing up benches, painting planters, building a labyrinth for community meditation and making this special spot on the bay a more enjoyable place for all!
We will be social distancing, and masks and gloves are required.
WHEN: Sunday October 25th 2020 from 12-4pm
Join us and volunteer! Two shifts of volunteers 12-2pm and 2-4pm.
The first shift will focus on cleaning and repair. The second will paint and beautify. The event capacity is 25 people at a time – it is free, but you must RSVP to attend.
WHERE: Historic Arverne Fishing and Recreation Area at Beach 69th and Bay in Arverne, NY

WHAT TO WEAR: Your favorite water colors – think blues and greens!
How much: The event is free and open to the public. How to participate?
● Donate money.
● Donate supplies.
● Donate Time.
● Families and kids can paint their own rocks and bring them for use in the labyrinth.
What to expect: Gardening, painting, labyrinth making and bench fixing!
All of the community is welcome to participate. We hope you will join us as a volunteer or attendee to create an amazing unforgettable event. Local @greenhouseplanttruck Angie will be there with her plant truck and green thumb selling plants and sharing the love.
