Musicians Contribute Songs to Documentary Film About Chicago's Columbian Exposition in 1893

CHICAGO - Aug. 15, 2020 -A diverse collection of musicians have contributed music to the soundtrack of a soon-to-be-released documentary about the Columbian Exposition held in Chicago during 1893. Michael Finney is the Media Engineer responsible for the project and has enlisted the help of Infinite Third, Vivian Delgadillo, Cameron Grey, and Victory Garden while rounding out the soundtrack with his own compositions.

"When a creator takes the time to personally connect with the music that fills out the sonic space of their project, it usually signals an underlying layer of emotional depth and I'm honored to contribute my work to this documentary," remarked Billy Mays, III guitarist of Infinite Third.

Vivian Delgadillo had the following sentiments regarding her musical contribution, "I've always been fascinated with the history of expositions in different countries. I'm excited to contribute music to this documentary of the World's Fair that took place in my hometown, Chicago, over 100 years ago. My favorite part of any documentary are archival images!"

This project started when the author acquired a book of official photographs published in 1893 to document the first Chicago World's Fair from a client that is an antiquarian book dealer. After creating a thread of images and commentary on Twitter, Finney decided to gather up the entries and attempt to craft a narrative from the individual posts. "Delving into this history has been a really organic process that I just sort of fell backwards into without the foresight to create an object with physical permanence. It's really amazing to hold the finished products while exploring this event over the last two years", he remarked.

Look for future releases associated with this project soon.

His unwavering commitment to improvisation has been the foundation for a unique sound which continues to evolve. Intense yet gentle, focused yet wandering, dreamlike yet grounded in reality, the world of Infinite Third is a mind-altering place that's never the same twice but somehow always feels familiar.
