CHARLOTTE, N.C. - July 15, 2020 - CHARLOTTE, NC - Earlier this year, Charleston, SC native and 2020 Independent Presidential Candidate Jade Simmons launched an unexpected independent run for President of the United States with her campaign Operation Restoration 2020. As part of her New American Dream tour, she will be in Charlotte, NC Thursday, July 16th & Friday, July 17th with a team of volunteers on a mission to gather at least 500 signatures that she needs in order to register as a write-in candidate for the state's ballot in November.
Simmons is currently listed as a registered write-in option for president in 41 states. 8 of the states (South Carolina, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Hawaii, Arkansas, South Dakota, Nevada and New Mexico) require independent candidates to gather petition signatures in order to get on the ballot (numbers vary by state). North Carolina allows for write-in status, but candidates must gather 500 petition signatures to file.

"Our country has never been in need of restoration more than now. It is necessary in this season for new leadership to rise up that will serve ALL Americans," said Simmons.
