Children's book offers message of comfort, activities for multi-generational families in quarantine

LOS ANGELES - May 6, 2020 - A new children's book is inspiring families stuck at home during the coronavirus pandemic through a heartwarming story of hope that includes ideas for creative activities.

"Granny and Danny Aren't Bored Anymore" by Emma Taylor shares a story about a boy and his grandmother, both bored at home during the global coronavirus pandemic. The pair decide to connect online to try fun activities as a way to cope. Together, they bake an apple pie, learn to dance salsa, and solve puzzles.

Author Emma Taylor wanted to give families a much-needed boost of love and warmth while presenting ideas for how to pass the time while staying home to stop the spread of COVID-19.

"Even if we are physically separated for the moment, we don't have to stay apart," Taylor said. "My new book shares new ways for how to connect in the digital space and share love and joy, even from a distance."

Granny and Danny Aren't Bored Anymore is Taylor's first children's book. The interior designer and mom of two was unprepared for how the lockdown would change her way of life. She was inspired to create Granny and Danny after helping her children connect with her own mom, an energetic grandmother of 11 in self-isolation. Taylor inspired her entire family to engage with one another using online games and social meetings that helped the isolation melt away and lifted everyone's spirits, young and old alike.

The book is geared toward elementary children ages 5 to 9 and their families, with ideas for how to communicate and cope during the pandemic.

"Times right now have been tough for families everywhere who are isolated at home while social distancing," Taylor said. "I am proud to share a sweet story for multi-generational families bored and frustrated in their separate homes, something that will encourage them to come together and find a little hope in this unprecedented time."

Granny and Danny Aren't Bored Anymore is now available on Amazon as an eBook through the Kindle Select program as well as in paperback format at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086VNRW29.
