REM5 Brings Immersive Learning Into the Home

ST LOUIS PARK, Minn. - April 3, 2020 - With the impact of COVID-19 and the shuttering of businesses and schools, REM5 VR Lab in St. Louis Park, MN is trying something completely new, bringing immersive education right to parents and kids at their home. Since opening in 2018, REM5 has established themselves as a global leader in using immersive technology to supplement K-12 learning objectives. To date, REM5 has focused on providing its services on site at REM5 or at schools. And now, at homes across the community.

In this new program, parents will pick up a VR headset each week that is pre-loaded with curated educational learning labs for each day. Each immersive VR experience is augmented with an online classroom with worksheets, additional resources, and a virtual discussion room. Week 1 learning labs range from taking students to Greenland to see the impact of climate change first hand, to riding along on a recreation of the Apollo 11 mission.

"Virtual reality is an amazing tool for engaging and educating youth, we think of it as the modern day Magic School Bus," says Amir Berenjan, REM5 Co-Founder. "We're excited to be able to extend our offering into the home and give parents and educators another educational resource in the face of such a challenging environment."

The turn-key program runs $100/week with discounts for multiple headsets and weeks. The first week of class begins April 6th with new programming released each Monday for at least every week in April.
