GREENVILLE, Pa. - March 17, 2020 - The Thiel College Cheerleading squad recently competed at the Champion Cheer Central (CCC) Red Hot Cheer and Dance Competition hosted by Slippery Rock University. It was the squad's first appearance since 2011.
The Thiel (https://www.thiel.edu/) took first place in the All-Girl Collegiate Level beating out Slippery Rock Club as well as Mercyhurst with zero deductions during the cheer portion of the competition.
Thiel was also recognized for best tumbling throughout the whole competition with first-year students Kara Sokol '23 and Averi Forsythe '23 throwing new tumbling passes.
This is the first competitive season since 2011 for the team. Following its nine-year hiatus, the team returned to competition on February 1 at Penn-State Behrend.
