GlowHouse Kids, LLC, of Pompton Plains, has received the NJSBDC Success Award 2019 in recognition of its Are You A Glow Kid?© Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Program and Curriculum. The award was presented to GlowHouse Kids owner and director, Elisa DiChristina, at the New Jersey Small Business Development Center (NJSBDC) Annual Small Business Growth Success Awards Luncheon on December 13 held at The Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township. DiChristina is the founder and CEO of GlowHouse Kids.
Elisa DiChristina, LCSW, has years of clinical experience working with children and families to help address social and emotional barriers, including consulting to the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency, teaching as an adjunct professor and working as a psychotherapist. She was credentialed as a NJ Mental Health Screener, NJ Court Appointed Parent Coordinator, and NJ Certified Divorce Mediator.
“We are honored to receive this award from the NJSBDC,” notes DiChristina, “and we are especially excited to be recognized for our dedication to improving the social and emotional development of school-aged children. Our SEL Program and Curriculum is a comprehensive educational program that embodies a proactive and preventative approach to providing support in educational learning standards while promoting positive development of social and emotional wellness skills that assist in shaping the foundation for well-being and success in life. Incorporating SEL strategies into everyday curriculum teaches children a healthy sense of self and adequate interpersonal skills.”
Are You A Glow Kid addresses solutions by empowering preschool and elementary school children to help meet SEL competencies and sub-competencies related to educational requirements within The State of New Jersey Department of Education’s Programs, including but not limited to anti-bullying, early childhood education and family engagement, academic standards, student learning standards, professional development, school security, and keeping our kids safe, healthy, and in school.
