In labs, GLP regulates the identification of samples, chemicals, reagents or solutions. Identities as well as data of manufacture or expiry must be evident to evaluate samples quickly and reliably and to track and trace. cab products support labeling on manual workstations and in automated processing systems.
Markings resulting from direct thermal or thermal transfer printing remain legible even during processing and storage. They withstand extreme temperatures, liquids and solvents. Print resolutions up to 600 dpi, a sharp-edge print image and high contrast enable even tiny codes to be verified. The products may be integrated in Laboratory Information Management Systems.
Tube labeling
By means of AXON tube labeling systems, 2D codes or linear barcodes are printed on self-adhesive labels and the printed labels applied to sample tubes in one operation. Tubes of diameters 10 to 35 mm can be labeled by AXON 1, capped or uncapped. On AXON 2, the maximum tube diameter to be processed is 17 mm. In case of AXON 1, tubes are inserted from above vertically upright. Its flat design facilitates installation wherever space is limited. 56.9 mm is the maximum print width. As for AXON 2, tubes are labeled in horizontal orientation in a classic printer chassis. Print widths are up to 108.4 mm. Labeled tubes can be removed by hand or automatically, one by one or collected in a tray. Printing and labeling take less than two seconds on both types of device.
Labeling object carriers and microtitre plates
Label printers of the proven SQUIX series can be expanded with applicators to a print and apply system in few steps - either for semi-automatic operation or assembly in a processing system. A S1000 applicator makes use of a stroke cylinder to apply printed labels on products such as object carriers. A S3200 unites a rotary and a stroke cylinder to position labels, for example, on microtitre plates. Supporting air, intake air and stroke speed can be set on both applicators to enable high process reliability. In case of sensitive products, the intake force can be reduced or labels blown on without contact. Ball-bearing guide bars are low-wear and facilitate a long service life in a lab.
