PRINCETON, N.J. - Nov. 22, 2019 - This year marks the 14th year of Morven's Festival of Trees, an annual highlight of the holiday season showcasing a juried collection of trees and mantles displayed throughout the museum's galleries, upstairs and down. All are invited to enjoy the holidays with local designers, artists, garden clubs, businesses, and non-profit organizations' exquisite and whimsical holiday decorations on mantels and trees.
"One of our beloved traditions, Festival of Trees celebrates the season with our decorator partners festooning our galleries. This year we have expanded the activities during the Festival to include two Thursday evenings with Beth Allan giving special Morven After Dark tours, tea with the Governor's Girls, and after last year's successful gingerbread house-making, adults have their very own session, complete with adult refreshments," says the Executive Director of Morven Museum & Garden Jill Barry. "We are thrilled to once again invite families to come dressed in their pajamas for our evening with Mrs. Claus. There is something for everyone to enjoy here throughout the season."

The co-chairs of Morven's Festival of Trees are Colleen Goggins, Carolyn & John Healey, Rachel & Mark Herr, and Lisa & Michael Ullmann.
All visitors are invited to vote on their favorite tree or mantel during regular Museum hours or at our special holiday programs. No reservations are required. Museum tickets must be purchased to visit the museum or attend programs. Docents will be on hand to share information, however, no formal tours are given during the Festival.
December programming around this year's Festival includes a Holiday Wreath Workshop, Family Gingerbread House Workshops, Holiday Tea, an Adult Gingerbread House Workshop, and Pajama Storytime with Mrs. Claus and renowned Princeton illustrator Gennady Spirin. Photos are encouraged with Mrs. Claus and each registrant will receive a free autographed copy of Mr. Spirin's The Night Before Christmas.

Open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Additional hours include Thursday, December 12 and 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m to coincide with Morven After Dark and Tuesday, December 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to coincide with the Drumthwacket Holiday Open House. The Festival of Trees is included with Morven admission of $10.00; $8.00 for Seniors; Free for Friends of Morven and Children 6 years and under.

For more than 200 years Morven has played a role in the history of New Jersey and the nation. Originally part of a 5,500-acre tract purchased from William Penn in 1701 by the Stockton family, it is the home of Richard Stockton, a Signer of the Declaration of Independence.
