October 31, 2019 - To solemnize the International Chefs Day, Amritsar Group of Colleges’ Department of Hotel Management celebrated AGC’s annual event i.e. “Chef Day Celebration” under the theme of “Healthy Food for Growing Up”.
Annual Chef Parade happened on the campus by the students of Hotel Management and Catering Technology who were dressed up in the scenic look of the chefs wearing chef coats and caps.
The respected Chief Guest of the occasion Mr. Deepak Paul (Principal- IHGI, Jalandhar) along with the esteemed Chefs of the Amritsar city, Chef Sanjeev Pahuja (Lemon Tree Hotel), Chef Santosh Yadav (Hotel Radisson Blue), Chef Maninder & Chef Vicky (Comfort Inn), Chef Mani Shankar Jha (Humble Hotels), Chef Sunil (Golden Sarovar Portico), Ms. Kirti (Front Office Manager, Hotel Royal), Chef Mahaveer Chauhan (SureStay Hotel by Best Western), and Mr. Shehbaz (Security Manager, Lemon Tree Hotel) illuminated the event with their gracious presence and on the occasion, a workshop based on the tactics of “Bar Tending” was also conducted by Mr. Kuldeep Singh (BarTender).
For the practical exposure of the students of the HMCT Department, various stalls comprising of healthy and nutritious food, were there which were rejoiced by the all, present in the celebration.
Honorable Chairman, AGC Adv. Amit Sharma, honorable Ms. Ragini Sharma (Director Finance, ACET); worthy Dr. Rajneesh Arora (MD, AGC), respected Dr. V.K. Banga (Principal, ACET), Madam Dipti Malhotra (Dean UG Courses) and other dignitaries of the HMCT Department, made the event gracious with their presence and felicitated the participating student.
While felicitating the students and the whole department, Madam Ragini Sharma said that with the Chef’s input, scholars’ interests, education, help and depending upon various other factors the evolving chefs will be able to create wonderful and delicious recipes out of the healthy foods and this will help turn them into the healthiest growing nation.
