An Art Exhibition dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, by Empowerment

October 09, 2019 - On October 1, 2019, Delhi-based NGO Empowerment and Korean Culture Centre commemorated an Art Show of young students from various schools of Delhi and NCR on Gandhi Jayanti at Korean Culture Center, New Delhi. Titled “SOWING THE SEEDS OF TRANQUILITY”, it celebrated 150 years of The Mahatma, and the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi’s values, peace and non-violence, in today’s world.

The event was inaugurated by Honorable Minister Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar (Ministry of Labour and Employment, Govt. of India), Honorable Ambassador of Korea H.E Shin Bongkil, Shri Uttam Pacharne (Chairman, Lalit Kala Akademi), Mr. Kim Kum Pyoung (Director, Korean Culture Centre), Madam Fabianne Francotte, Ambassador Jasminder Kasturia & Madam Tatiana Perova from Russian Culture Centre.

Out of 500 and above paintings from various school children all over the Delhi NCR region,the jury of renowned artists Prof. Niren Sengupta, Shampa Sircar Das and Kumar Vikas Saxena selected 50 paintings for display.

The chief guest congratulated all the young artists while addressing the gathering to enlighten the young children present on teachings of the Mahatma and how it is very much relevant in today’s world.

Honorable Ambassador of Korea spoke about the message of peace &tranquility spread by the Mahatma.

All the students whose works were selected for the exhibition were felicitated with beautiful trophies and certificates.

Kumar Vikas Saxena, President, Empowerment, presented a vote of thanks to all the distinguished guests and young children for participating in the event and making it a success.
