October 02, 2019 - Its estimated more than 37 million American adults have CKD. CKD, causes more deaths than prostate cancer or breast cancer. 90% don’t even realize that they have CKD. CKD is more common in women than men. The very basic work of the kidney is that it acts as filters of your bloodstream. When the blood passes through kidneys nephrons filers out the waste products. It removes all the waste products exit your body in the form of urine. Kidneys failure happens when your kidneys are no longer able to filter your blood properly. This imbalance interferes with other systems in the body by potentially causing anemia and proteinemia while waste products continue to build up.
