Big Hearts Commit to Giving Aid to Mentor Leaders

OTHER, Okla. - Sept. 20, 2019 - Oklahoma Palliative & Hospice Care is community based organization dedicated to palliative and hospice care, and focused on exceeding patients' individual medical, emotional and spiritual needs. They are proud to announce their employees are donating portions of their paychecks each month to Mentor Leaders nonprofit organization, utilizing community-based effort to bring aid, restoration and sustainability to global neighborhoods.

"The big hearts of our employees at Oklahoma Palliative & Hospice Care to donate monthly from their paychecks and commit to helping this great organization is incredible," said Phillip Hill, Chief Executive Officer.

Mentor Leaders was founded by David Whetstone who decided to backpack around Africa as his parents had once been missionaries in the islands of Grenada, West Indies. While backpacking he came across a village in Northern Togo and when he came out of his tent that morning, he was surrounded by many orphaned children. He stayed and learned about the children and their needs as he knew God had a very big plan and project for him. He started Mentor Leaders and raised $250,000 in the first year to put in a well, start a church and a school. From there David raised money to start a higher level school and a goat farm. Since then this village has become very self-sufficient with hog farms, chickens, etc. The schools have done so well the government has made the ML Academy the mother school of the region where all students are required to go for yearly testing. As a result, the academy has grown to over 400 students and many more buildings have been built.

"You are one step away from being the answer to some child's prayer. From a passion of helping one young boy in Africa to helping another has led me and the amazing team around me to serving 1,200 children around the world, 365 days a year by way of education, food, clean water, clothing and medical attention. One might be content with what seems to be an already heavy load, but the passion that keeps growing inside of me, has me convinced that we have just gotten started! I just so happen to believe that faith can move mountains! I believe that we can speak and the power of our creator can and will give us anything that we ask in his name! I am more confident than ever, I know my next step and that is to continue to trust God through the help of many, for the assignment given," said David Whetstone, Founder and CEO Mentor Leaders.
