How To Make Tender and Juicy Pork Chops

Pork chops are a type of meat that can require some fatty ingredients such as butter or oil when you grill them in a pan, while the barbecue may dry them out a bit if they did not soak in a marinade for a while before cooking time. Did you ever consider baking them? If you follow this procedure, not only will you obtain tender, juicy and tasty pork chops, but you will also reduce the amount of fat that you would use when grilling them in a pan. Also, once the baking process is complete, you may wish to trim the fat off the meat in order to reduce the amount of fat ingested. Basically, you have more control on what you eat.

Ingredients and cookware required:

Pork chops (2 per adult and 1 per young child)
1 pouch of onion soup mix (dry mix)
1 large non-stick cookie sheet
1 large clear plastic bag
Tongs
Cooking spray (you will not need it if your cookie sheet is non-stick)
Plastic gloves (optional if you clean your hands thoroughly with soap and water)
Foil (enough to cover the pork chops)

Procedure:

Make the best meat selection! You can either choose some boneless pork chops or some with bones. In my experience I have noticed that, contrary to what people think, boneless pork chops have more meat and less fat than the ones with bones. Although you need some fat in order to avoid drying out the meat, you do not need much. Also, when the butcher trims the meat from the bones, there will be more meat in your plate than if you try to trim it yourself.
Handle the meat safely. Raw meat can cause health issues if not handled with care. That is why I suggest to either wear gloves or wash your hands clean with soap prior to touching the meat as well as afterwards. Another way is to use tongs.
Preheating the oven. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. This simple step will diminish the amount of cooking time and will give you a more accurate cooking time for your meat.
Cover them all up. Use a large, clear plastic bag. Fill the bag with the onion soup mix and some air in order to facilitate the covering of the pork chops with the mixture. Close the bag with either a twist or a zipper seal. Use one pork chop at a time. Shake the closed bag up and down until the pork shop is fully covered with the mix. Use the tongs to remove it from the bag and shake it lightly to remove the excess of the mix. Gently deposit each pork chop on a non-stick or sprayed cooking sheet. Make sure they do not touch each other.
Baking time! Bake the pork chops for 35 minutes at a temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep an eye on them as each oven temperature may vary a bit. They should be golden by the time you take them out of the oven.
Rest and serve! Once the pork chops are fully cooked, let them rest on top of the stove for about 3 to 5 minutes. Make sure they are covered with a sheet of foil. This will allow juices to freely flow through the meat, making them juicier and tender.

It doesn't matter what side dish you decide to serve with your pork chops -- you will soon enjoy some juicy, tender and tasty pork chops. Once you experience such a taste experience, pork chops will never be the same for you. Treat yourself and enjoy a meal that your palate will savor with every bite. Enjoy!
